Some 34 teams took part in the 2000-01 season, organized into 5 'Conferences', enjoying regular fixtures as well as special events.  Following the conclusion of the regular season the 32nd annual Champion of Champions KO was staged.  Teams eliminated early on were entered into the sister competition - the Wise Old Owls Yorkshire Plate.
