How to get there

The Lee Brigg W.M.C. is on St Mary's Rd. Altofts, West Yorkshire.

The village of Altofts is roughly 4 miles North East of Wakefield city centre, i.e. in the direction of Caslteford.  nearby is Normanton train station and junctions 30 and 31 of the M62 motorway.

By Car:
from Wakefield:
Go north past Pinderfields Hospital heading for Stanley & Rothwell. Shortly after the Graziers pub (on the right) turn right following signs for Stanley Ferry & Castleford. Continue straight on for 2 miles and this brings you into Altofts. After the Robin Hood pub and the Methodist Church (both on the right), turn right following the sign for Normanton. About 500m from this turning you will come to St Mary's Rd, which is on the left - opposite the Chemist - a short way around the right hand bend that comes after you pass the Lee Brigg Hotel (on the right). The club is on the left at the bottom of St Mary's Road (a short cul de sac).

By Car: via M62:
T
ake the exit for Normanton at Junction 31. Follow the road into Normanton for about a mile. At the second set of traffic lights take a sharp right and proceed through Normanton town centre (the road snakes a bit). Go through the traffic lights and over the railway bridge. Proceed into Altofts going to the top of the rise and St Mary's Rd is on the right, opposite a Chemist. The club is on the left at the bottom of St Mary's Road (a short cul de sac).

Parking - to the rear of the club & on St Mary's Rd.

By Bus ........ I am unsure of the exact details but there is a bus stop outside the Chemist opposite St Mary's Rd, and another is a short way from the club going down the hill into Normanton. Busses ply in both directions between Castleford and Wakefield (via Normanton). Both terminus are about 20 minutes journey time. The quiz (though not the presentations) is likely to be over before the last bus goes through - but please check times if you are travelling by these means.

By Rail ........ Normanton train station is on the Hallam Line (Leeds to Sheffield). From the train station the Lee Brigg Club is a 10-15 minute walk. Turn left on coming out of the station and left again to bring you over the bridge spanning the railway (you will have to skirt round a building site - a new Lidl store is nearing completion). After crossing the bridge, follow the road into Altofts going to the top of the rise and St Mary's Rd is on the right, opposite a Chemist. The club is on the left at the bottom of St Mary's Road (a short cul de sac).
