Some 24 teams are contesting the 2000-01 season, organized into 4 'Conferences', enjoying regular fixtures as well as special events.  Following the conclusion of the regular season the 33rd annual Champion of Champions KO will be staged.  Teams eliminated early on will be entered into the sister competition - the Wise Old Owls Yorkshire Plate.
